On July 1, 2020 CA Bill 2524, the “Prorater” Bill was assigned to the Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions. The Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions’ hearing date on the Bill is set for July 20, 2020. 

Similarly, on July 1, 2020, CA Bill 2443, the “Deceptive practices: debt settlement” Bill was assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Appropriations Committee. This Bill has not been assigned a hearing date yet. We will be sure to alert you once the Committee hearing date is set for Bill 2443, and any updates that come from Bill 2524.
