CA Bills No. 2443 and No. 2524 Pass the CA Assembly and Move to the CA Senate

On June 11, 2020, CA Bills No. 2443, “Deceptive practices: debt settlement.” and No. 2524, “Proraters” both passed the CA Assembly. Both Bills have been sent to the CA State Senate and are awaiting their respective Committee assignments. The Committee on Rules, which is where Bills are sent after they are first read in a new chamber, will decide which specific committee to send each Bill. 

There have been no language changes or amendments in either Bill since our most recent regulatory updates on them. We will continue to update you on how each of these Bills proceed through the CA State Senate.
